Plot
Struggling with his dual identity, failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, in the prison of Arkham State Hospital. . In addition, Gaga talks about how she got into her dark character and how she stays in it. The subtitle of the film is “Folie a Deux”. This initially led to speculation that Harley Quinn would appear in the film, which was soon confirmed. The name Folie a Deux comes from the 19th century French psychiatrists Charles Lasègue and Jules Falret. The term was coined for two or more people who share the same madness or delusion.

The president of the jury talks about “the people of New York”; Instead of Gotham City. This is because New York State is the plaintiff in the criminal case, and this version of Gotham City is obviously located in New York State (most versions have Gotham in New Jersey). The film opens with the Looney Tunes title track, with the Warner Bros logo surrounded by rings and the Joker’s face. The director continues with the sequel, which is unfortunately empty and lacks character development. all the feelings and emotions you want to say and express. BUT he failed to create a compelling story. The characters of the film mostly change from the first part to the second. Their arc either tilts or it tilts.
Events/obstacles come their way to change their lives
OR a new character/characters enter their lives, opening the door to more interesting events that result in “Folie à Deux”. In this movie, Joker/Arthur Fleck’s life doesn’t seem to have changed much with Gaga’s character Lee. Instead, the film keeps repeating events by revisiting the past (the first Joker film) or reacting to some of its scenes. In this film too, he keeps going back and forth to the same places and events. The result is an overall boring movie that is ONLY visually entertaining. This movie introduces two main characters in the world of Gotham, Harvey Dent, played terribly by Harry Lawtey and written even worse. By the end of the movie, I felt that it was useless and that the 'name' within the comic fandom.
However, the song selection was not appropriate
The same goes for Lady Gaga’s Lee, which I felt wasn’t in this movie either. I loved how this movie uses music/songs to show that it’s an escape for our inner selves. Their performance, on the other hand, was handled superbly by the cinematography of Gaga or Joaquin Phoenix and Lawrence Sher.
